Canvassing Workflow

Tap any voter card to open their detail screen. You’ll see:

  • Contact info - Phone number(s) and address
  • Property details - Acres, owner type, parcel info
  • Voter info - Age, party, registration date
  • Canvass history - Previous contact attempts and results

Tap the phone icon to dial the voter directly. The app will open your phone’s dialer.

Tap the message icon to open a text. If text templates are configured, you can select a pre-written message.

Tap the map icon to get directions to the voter’s address in Apple Maps or Google Maps.

Use the quick action buttons for common results:

  • Support - Voter supports our candidate
  • Undecided - Voter hasn’t decided
  • Opposed - Voter opposes our candidate

Tap “More Options” for additional result types:

Tap the notes field to add context about your conversation. Good notes include:

  • Key concerns the voter mentioned
  • Topics to follow up on
  • Best time to call back
  • Family members mentioned

Tap the microphone icon to record a voice memo. This is useful for:

  • Quickly capturing details after a conversation
  • Recording while driving between stops
  • Noting observations about the property

The contact history section shows all previous interactions:

  • Date and time of contact
  • Who made the contact
  • Method (call, text, door)
  • Result recorded
  • Notes from the conversation

Record results immediately after each contact while details are fresh.

Focus on actionable information. “Concerned about water rates” is more useful than “Nice person.”

If someone asks you to call back, use “Callback Requested” and note the preferred time.
