Walking Routes

  1. Filter your list to the voters you want to visit (e.g., “Not Contacted” in a specific area)
  2. Tap “Walking Route” in the action menu
  3. Review the route - voters are ordered for efficient walking
  4. Tap “Start” to begin navigation

The app optimizes your route to minimize walking distance. It considers:

  • Geographic proximity between addresses
  • Street layout (prefers same-side-of-street sequences)
  • Your current location (starts from nearest voter)

The route screen shows:

  • Current stop number and total stops
  • Voter name and address
  • Distance to this stop
  • Quick action buttons (call, text, navigate)

After each stop:

  1. Record the result (answered, not home, etc.)
  2. Tap “Next” to advance to the next stop
  3. Or tap “Skip” to move on without recording

Tap “Open in Maps” to get turn-by-turn directions to the current stop using Apple Maps or Google Maps.

Tap “Pause Route” to save your progress. You can resume later from where you left off.

If you need to visit stops in a different order, tap and hold a stop to drag it to a new position.

Swipe left on a stop to remove it from the route without deleting the voter.

Create routes of 15-25 stops for a 2-3 hour canvassing session. Smaller routes are easier to complete.

Walking routes are best for good weather days. Use phone canvassing when it’s too hot, cold, or rainy.

If no one’s home, note the time in comments. Some neighborhoods are better at different times of day.
